When it comes to health, prevention pays off.

In the article Aging in Place: Healthy Lifestyles Supplement Science-Based Solutions, Sean Moloughney talks about the rise in global life expectancy and how preventive health solutions are important more than ever.

The Facts.

In current time, life expectancy for women is around 75 years old and for men is 71 years old.  For some perspective, in 1950 the average life expectancy was 68 years old.

It is projected that Americans ages 65 and older will nearly double from 52 million in 2018 to 95 million by 2060.  This huge influx in an older demographic will inevitably put a strain on the healthcare system with more individuals needing support as they age.

An estimated 90% of adults that are over the age of 65 experience one of more chronic conditions that require specific treatment or medical care.  That is why taking care of your health and early prevention are so vital.

Healthy Aging & Prevention.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines healthy aging as “the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables wellbeing in older age.”

In other words, people looking to continue to lead an independent lifestyle.  The desire to age healthy is nearly universal.

“When we look at improvements in lifespan and longevity, we also need to assess what the quality of life is like for those extended years,” he said. “If we can maintain physical function (for example, our muscle health) and cognitive performance (for example, our memory and alertness), the improvements in longevity have a greater value when they come along with these measures of improved or maintained quality of life.” States Shawn Baier, Vice President of Business Development at TSI Group Ltd.

Improving Muscle Health.

When it comes to our muscles, it is inevitable that our muscle reserve will decline as we age.

Our muscle mass peaks by age 30, after which we normally start to lose muscle mass as we age.  While we can use proper nutrition and resistance training to help slow the process and build up our muscle reserve, muscle loss is a natural part of aging.

Supplementing with myHMB delivers exactly what the body’s working muscles need – HMB.  HMB is an effective supplement for improving muscle health by stimulating muscle protein synthesis while reducing muscle protein breakdown.  This allows you to blunt muscle damage, recovery faster, improve strength, and build/maintain muscle.  Watch the video below to learn more about the mechanisms of myHMB.
