HMB (beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate), a component that naturally exists in muscle cells, has been found to improve muscle health and function by simultaneously boosting muscle protein synthesis and preventing muscle protein degradation. Burstow said studies have shown HMB to be crucial in maintaining muscle mass.
