Muscle loss is a natural part of aging. It occurs when the body breaks down protein faster than it can synthesize it. The loss of muscle as we age can increase risk of falls, fractures, loss of independence and mobility. While exercise helps to prevent age-related muscle loss there are also other measures we can take to help maintain our muscle strength.

Two key nutrients have been shown to improve muscle health:

  • Beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate (HMB)
  • Vitamin D3

Together these nutrients have been shown to maintain and restore muscle mass as we age.
