Speaking at the Healthy Ageing APAC Summit Singapore, TSI’s John Burstow said a growing understanding of sarcopenia among the region’s medical community is now filtering down to consumers, who will be increasingly looking for preventive supplement solutions.

In the Nutra Ingredients Asia interview Burstow discusses the importance of sarcopenia being recognized as a disease by the World Health Organization in 2016, and the diagnostic guidelines, which were then developed.

This progress mirrors that of osteoporosis and signals that there is a potential market for products that promote muscle health.
