In this randomized study, 24 Iranian first-league soccer players received either 3 g/day HMB, 3 g/day HMB plus 3 g/day creatine, or placebo for 6 days. Researchers evaluated anaerobic performance using the Running Anaerobic Sprint Test, along with serum CK and LDH as muscle injury markers. The HMB plus creatine group showed significant improvements in peak and mean power, while CK and LDH decreased but not significantly. The study suggests short-term HMB plus creatine supplementation may help support anaerobic performance in trained soccer players.
