A recent meta-analysis published in Frontiers in Nutrition adds to the growing body of evidence that HMB (β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate) supports muscle health and strength as we age.
Key Findings: Support Muscle and Strength
The meta-analysis reviewed 21 randomized controlled trials involving 1,935 participants over the age of 50. With a daily dose of 3 grams for more than 12 weeks, researchers found that HMB supplementation significantly improved muscle mass, strength, and physical performance1.
“This new meta-analysis validates what we at TSI have been championing for years: HMB is a scientifically proven ingredient that supports muscle health and function as we age,” stated Shawn Baier, VP of Business Development at TSI Group. “We’ve long understood the critical role HMB plays in addressing age-related muscle loss, and it’s rewarding to see the clinical community continue to affirm that.”
Why This Matters for Healthy Aging
As we age, maintaining muscle mass and strength becomes essential for staying active, independent, and resilient. This review adds to the growing research supporting HMB as a valuable tool for preserving muscle health and physical function throughout the aging process.
