Today fitness coach and myHMB athlete Jada Kelly is talking about why you should make yourself a priority.


Let’s Get Physical

I honestly think the main thing I would love to focus on today is that it’s impossible to be your best in every other area of life when you don’t feel your best physically.

Making ourselves a priority and specifically making our health and wellness a priority is going to allow us to thrive in every other area of our life.

Not just in your family or emotionally or mentally, but when you’re thinking about the goals you have for your career. What goals or expectations do you have for where you want to go in your life?

When thinking about what you want to attain in your life, how does your health affect that? When your health is not a priority it can add unnecessary roadblocks.

Set Daily Intentions to Make Yourself a Priority

When focusing on your health think about incorporating the following:

  • Daily movement
  • Giving your body life (what gives you this?)
  • Your mindset
  • Being kind to yourself
  • Thoughts, words, actions


When you’re doing that daily, that is recharging you, refreshing you and allowing you to endure. We all have hardships in our life. When you put your health first, you’re able to endure and push through those hardships. You can overcome challenges in a way that you may not have been able to before.

Am I Being Selfish?

Whenever you feel like “it’s selfish to put myself first.” “It’s selfish to prioritize my health.”

IT IS NOT.

Prioritizing your health is something that’s going to allow you to thrive. The next step is to make a list of your priorities. Where does health and wellness rank? Do you need to shift priorities so that health and wellness move up on that list?

Don’t feel like it’s selfish. Remember prioritizing yourself is going to allow you to bring out your best.
